$3.2 T (TWTW – Feb 27-Mar 3, 2017)

$3.2 Trillion – The gains in U.S. share values since Trump’s election … as tweeted by the Tweeter in Chief himself #takingcreditfor, Donald Trump.

As for the Donald’s address to Congress – labelled as featuring a far more tempered tone (good) but also little new of substance (not so good) … which didn’t prevent markets to shoot up 300 points in its aftermath

Recent Developments:

  • Snap – The next FB? Or on its way to becoming the next Twitter … a meaningful question given the lofty valuation attached to the picture vanishing co. Are investors in the stock soon to find its size going puuuuf ?
  • Institutions – even or reduced equity exposure … leaving individual investors to power continued market gains = … not sustainable
  • Investor Intelligence – bull bear spread highest for current market cycle (46.6 % as per Barron’s )
  • FED hike – March 14/15 is “live” – to wit, Janet Yellen opining this week that “a further adjustment in Fed Funds rate would be appropriate at the coming meeting”.
  • Mar 9 – This bull market turn 8 …
  • Q4 Canada – +2.6 % besting the U.S. +1.9%.
  • Canadian banks – beating across the board, with several dividend increases, nice Tier 1 ratios bumps et al. To quote Gene Simmons – ’tis good to be a bank in Canada”

Bottom Performing ETFs – Gold and Silver related exposure – the flipside of a by now close to 100% rate hike being anticipated for March 14/15 FOMC…
