100 Days (TWTW – Apr 24-28, 2017)

  • French Elections – Should see Macron come out on top this coming Sunday, in round two of the French Presidential Elections. That, at least, is what had markets responding enthusiastically to the results of the first round that took place April 23
  • Bombardier – Found itself in the crosshair of Boeing complaining the company is effectively dumping its airplanes in terms of their pricing
  • Home Capital Group – Obtained a costly (10%) Lifeline, as it otherwise saw its stock entirely crater this past week
  • The CAD – Ended the month at its weakest …
  • BlackRock’s CEO Larry Fink – sees the US on a path toward exploding deficits … Read More => click HERE!

Top Performing ETFs – Results of the First Round of the French Presidential elections put “risk on” back on the board, with European Equities leading higher (banks leading the charge) in an expression of relief… Being unhedged as far the the currency is where you would have enjoyed the greater gains, as the EUR jumped higher in the event. European inflation took inflation within a hair of the ECB’s target – though on the back of higher Energy…

Bottom Performing ETFs – Volatility continues to be eerily absent despite the US protectionist rhetoric, and despite the North Korean situation, a situation Donald Trump suggested could lead to conflict… Gold, Materials, and … Marijuana ETFs led to the downside…
